Nothing less than a German-Spanish success story
MTE: Nothing less than a German-Spanish success story
Did you know that MTE has its roots in Spain? More precisely, in the Basque Country, which is known throughout the world for its tradition in mechanical engineering. MTE has been represented in Germany since 1993, since 2008 with MTE Deutschland GmbH. From today’s perspective, this foundation was the most important starting signal for MTE’s success story in Germany.
Focus on perfect service right from the start
In the beginning, our goal was to offer all existing customers in Germany a real service home. Holger Illner was and is a real key figure here as Service Manager. This is because he already had many years of experience in servicing large milling machines in 2008. Initially, we worked together with external service providers. Then, however, we worked with our own steadily growing team of service technicians, who today guarantee our first-class service quality.
Not just technological, but also family ties
MTE Deutschland GmbH was founded by mechanical engineering graduate Judith Ajubita. She has been responsible for the structural development of the subsidiary from the very beginning. It was not by chance that she came up with the idea of founding MTE Deutschland 13 years ago to improve service quality and the supply of spare parts. In fact, Judith Ajubita is the daughter of the founder of MTE s.a. in Spain. She has therefore known the market for milling machines and its peculiarities for longer than MTE GmbH has existed in Germany. And it was clear to her from the outset that it was not just about service, but also about close cooperation with production in the Basque country. Because the two are now interlinked, we can adapt our machines perfectly to the needs of our customers.
Dual leadership as a success turbo
In 2012, Judith Ajubita’s husband, Gunther Borbonus, also joined MTE. This paved the way for the next stage of expansion in Germany and Spain. Borbonus had previously worked for many years as an authorized signatory in a responsible position at a market competitor. He joined us with the aim of further improving the quality of the machines and service support and increasing market share.
The new MTE customer center in Montabaur
More service and better customer support – to achieve this, we opened our current customer and service center in Montabaur in 2014. Since then, we have consistently expanded our service departments here: with our own qualified technicians in the office and in the field as well as our own spare parts warehouse. Our customers will also find our project management and MTE sales department here. Effective QM systems were introduced hand in hand in Spain and Germany. This has enabled us to standardize and optimize our processes and product ranges.
Constructive freedom for the German market
Over the years, however, we have not only continuously improved our service quality and spare parts supply. We have also expanded our product range by a whole five series. We have also added numerous options and innovations. Today, we are proud of the fact that we can meet all the requirements of the German market quickly and effectively with our design department in Spain and our sales department in Germany. This cooperation offers an enormous amount of design freedom and makes it possible for us to respond to many special requests without having to build an expensive special machine. It is therefore no wonder that our market share in Germany has increased by over 20 percent since 2008.
Whether it’s a Bed type milling machine, Fixed table travelling column milling machine or moving column milling machine, we know our way around!
