From application engineer to sales representative: two perspectives, one common goal - tailor-made solutions for production.
During my six years as an application engineer, I carried out a large number of machining studies and machine designs – from portal milling machines to vertical lathes and powerful boring mills. Every task was different, every project a new challenge. I found it particularly exciting when we had to develop the optimum machining process for a complex workpiece: Which machine would provide the necessary stability? Which design allows the desired flexibility? And how can options be combined in such a way that, in the end, real added value is created for production?
At the time, however, I was often surprised when the sales department said after weeks of intensive discussions: “The customer has not yet made the decision to buy.” For me, the solution was obvious – the machine was right, the technology was right, the results were convincing. So why the hesitation?
Today I know that good decisions take time
Today, after a year in sales, I see things differently. A decision for a new machine – be it a Bed type milling machine or a Floor type milling machine – is rarely made immediately. It involves large investments, long-term planning and often also changes to the entire production structure. Such decisions mature step by step.
And this is precisely where my strength lies: I know both worlds. My technical experience has given me the ability to understand requirements precisely and to think through solutions in depth. From my new role in sales, I have learned to listen, to filter out the actual goals of my customers and to accompany the decision-making process in a comprehensible way. This enables me to build bridges between technical detail and an overall entrepreneurial view.
Why MTE machines are so convincing
As part of the MTE family, I have learned not only to explain technical data, but also to make real advantages visible. MTE builds sophisticated CNC Bed type milling machines, Fixed table traveling column milling machines and Floor type milling machines – Machines that are demanded and appreciated by professionals in machine, mold and tool construction.
Bed type milling machines / machines – stability meets precision
MTE Bed type milling machines / machines are at the heart of many production processes:
- They offer high stability, freedom from vibration and precision, especially for large and heavy workpieces.
- Different series – from the compact K model to the powerful BF series and multifunctional machines such as BT, KT or RT – cover a wide range of requirements.
- The linear-guided variants with Backlash-free INA linear guides are particularly flexible, enabling fast dynamics and maximum precision.
Whether roughing, finishing or complex multi-sided machining is required, these machines can be equipped with a range of different Milling heads / heads, rotary tables and automation options.
Floor type milling machines – performance in large
Floor type milling machines from MTE are the first choice for large-volume and demanding components:
- They combine a robust cast FEM design with high damping and precise CNC control.
- Variants such as FBF-S, FBF-M or FBF-X cover a wide range of processing areas – from standard to XXL.
- With automatic Stepless / stepless positioning, large Travel paths and ergonomic operating features, they help to reduce set-up times and increase throughput.
These machines are not simply “tools”, but production masters that impress with their precision, reliability and modularity.

Technical understanding meets customer benefit
Whether we are talking about the enormous stability of a Bed type milling machine, the flexibility and range of a Floor type milling machine or special milling heads and equipment packages – I explain the technical advantages in an understandable way without wrapping them up in technical jargon. In the end, it’s all about working with my customers to develop a tailor-made solution that fits their production exactly.
What drives me is not just sales. I’m much more motivated by the idea of designing solutions that also work in everyday life – in shift work, under high stress, with changing requirements. My technical past is not a burden for me, but my greatest advantage: I know how theory should feel in practice.
Service & partnership go beyond sales
And if required, I don’t stop at the sale. At MTE, we support you from the final adaptation of your machine to your production through process optimization to training your team directly on the system – all from a single source.
Our aim is not just to supply machines, but to live partnerships:
- with fast spare parts supply,
- Milling head workshop in Germany,
- personal support by phone or on site.
So today I see my work not just as sales, but as a partnership. A partnership in which technical expertise and personal support go hand in hand. And this is exactly what motivates me every day: to develop the right solutions from MTE and thus ensure the long-term success of my customers.
